# Datasources

> Compare the sources Syntage uses, the data they provide, and their access requirements.

Syntage connects to official registries and specialized verification providers to retrieve tax, commercial, credit, legal, labor, and compliance data about people and companies in Mexico.

Datasources define where information can come from. [Extractions](https://docs.syntage.com/using-syntage/extractions.md) define when Syntage retrieves or refreshes that information for an entity.

## Verification datasource guide

| Datasource | Use it for | Data available through Syntage | Requirements and configuration |
| - | - | - | - |
| [SAT](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/sat/overview.md) | Tax identity, tax compliance, invoicing, and tax filings. | RFC status and identity, CFDI invoices and related records, returns, compliance checks, retentions, electronic accounting, and digital certificates. | The entity needs an RFC. Most SAT extractions require a valid CIEC or e.firma [credential](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/sat/credentials.md); the accepted credential depends on the requested data. |
| [Registro Público de Comercio (RPC)](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/rpc/overview.md) | Company registration, corporate acts, and shareholders recorded in Mexico's commercial registry. | Matching registry entities, registered acts, shareholders, act metadata, and available act files. | The entity needs a legal name. An RFC improves identification. SAT credentials are not required. |
| [Registro Único de Garantías Mobiliarias (RUG)](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/rug/overview.md) | Movable collateral guarantees and their registry history. | Guarantees, secured parties and grantors, registration details, related operations, parsed filing data, and available operation files. | The entity needs a name. SAT credentials are not required. |
| [Buró de Crédito](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/buro-de-credito/overview.md) | Credit history and risk information for a person or company. | The selected Buró product response, score when provided, report identifiers, parsed data, and generated report files. | Requires taxpayer identity data, a valid [authorization](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/buro-de-credito/authorizations.md), and an enabled Buró integration for the organization. The user needs **Can create extractions** plus **Can create Credit Bureau (BDC) extractions** for a person or **Can create Buró Empresas extractions** for a company. |
| [Buró Empresas through your own account](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/buro-de-credito/own-account-integration.md) | Company credit reports requested with your organization's Buró Empresas account. | Company report products such as `INFORME_BURO` and `RCO`, including parsed data and generated report files. | Requires an active Buró Empresas account, Buró approval for Syntage's digital NIP flow, configured organization credentials, the entity's authorization, and organization enablement. The user needs **Can create extractions** and **Can create Buró Empresas extractions**. |
| [Buró de Investigaciones Legales (BIL)](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/bil/reports.md) | Legal, administrative, sanctions, PEP, wanted-person, and international record searches. | Overall risk grade, search folio and date, parsed findings, and the original XML and PDF report covering up to 156 sources. | The entity needs a name, BIL must be enabled for the organization, and the user needs **Can create extractions** and **Can create BIL extractions**. BIL is premium and API requests require a signed charge agreement. SAT credentials are not required. |
| [Infonavit Créditos Firmes](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/datasources/infonavit/overdue-credits.md) | Employers with firm overdue housing-credit obligations. | Employer registration number, published name and state, credit count, first publication date, and list year. | The entity needs a name and the datasource must be enabled for the organization. SAT credentials and a signed agreement are not required. |
| [Background Checks](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/other/background-checks.md) | Identity, judicial, sanctions, PEP, tax, regulatory, adverse-media, and other due-diligence screening. | Category scores, database statuses, matched records and fields, country scope, and a PDF report. | A company needs an RFC. A person needs an RFC and CURP. No entity onboarding or SAT credentials are required. Source availability is managed by Syntage. |
| [Company Verification](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/other/company-verification-reports.md) | Company profile and verification metadata in a generated report. | Report metadata, basic profile data, found entities, supporting files, and the generated PDF with detailed verification sections. | Available for companies when the report is enabled for the organization. Contact your CSM or Syntage Support for availability. |

> [!NOTE]
>
> The sources consulted by a specific report can depend on the entity type, country scope, available registry records, and your organization's configuration. Use the completed report's database statuses and records to confirm which sources were consulted and what they returned.

[Insights](https://docs.syntage.com/resources/insights/overview.md), reports, and Syntage Score are derived by Syntage from datasource records. They are analysis products rather than additional external sources.
